Living Lists
I am considering updating this in future posts when I’ve added more to my TBR/TBH stacks, both physical and virtual. Would this be something you would like to see as a subscriber? The subtitle is an attempt to let you know which list this is (e.g., volume 1, number 1). Future lists would follow this format.
In Progress Texts
Technically, these aren’t TBR—I’ve already started them and have read some at least once but am re-reading.
The Abolition of Man by C.S. Lewis (a post on this one is forthcoming)
Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning by Douglas Wilson, one of those responsible for the renaissance of CCE in America in the late 1970’s; it is taking me a while to get through this one because it is his earliest book about CCE and many of his sources are dated, even in later editions of the text.
Mortimer Adler: The Paideia Way of Classical Education by Robert M. Woods
The Coddling of the American Mind: How Good Intentions and Bad Ideas Are Setting Up a Generation for Failure by Greg Lukianoff & Jonathan Haidt (not specifically about CCE but discuss learning and how cultural changes affect psychology of students)
In the Stack / On the Kindle
Repairing the Ruins by Douglas Wilson (free read with Kindle Unlimited)
The Case for Classical Christian Education by Douglas Wilson (free read with Kindle Unlimited)
